This three-story, 6,800 square foot mixed-use addition on the corner of Monroe and Harrison Streets provides small business and housing growth for the urban neighborhood. The design complements the existing building and fits the scale and character of the neighborhood.
The first floor and basement provide 5,000 square feet of commercial retail space for one or two businesses. Also on the first floor is an efficiency apartment and a bike storage room. On the second floor are two one-bedroom apartments, one featuring a walk-out balcony. The third floor features a 1,067 square foot two bedroom apartment with a walk-out balcony.
Exterior features include gooseneck lighting, burnished masonry, fiber cement lap siding, brick and prefinished decorative metal railing, and bike racks.
National Construction also completed restoration of the existing building’s 1920s façade, including the original brick parapet, reconstruction of the original cornice, and new windows and awnings.
